The ‘Berklee Global Jazz Institute’ is coming to Bocas del Toro

In May, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, an event for audiences of all ages, will arrive in Bocas del Toro.

He May 25 at 19:00 the group will hold a concert at the Lost Boys Blues Bar in Carenero Island and May 26 At 19:00 there will be a Jam Session at the Buena Vista restaurant in Bocas del Toro with musicians from the institute and local musicians.

Also, Berklee Global Jazz Institute will offer music lessons at the Rogelio Josué Ibarra School in Bocas City as part of the institute’s social work.

Institute students who will participate in the activities include a pianist Chilean Luciana Garcia, Russian drummer Ilya Blazh, Italian bassist David MacChione, Chilean drummer Ignacio Diaz and Luke Walker from Trinidad and Tobago on Steelpan.

He is the founder and artistic director of the institute Danilo Pérez, administrative director Marco Pignataro, Professor Patricia Zárate and Fundación Danilo Pérez Executive Director Aleida Duarte will also accompany the group on their activities.

During the concert on May 25, which will be held in carenero island, musicians will play a special tribute to various Panamanian jazz musicians including Luis Russell from Boca.

Events are open to the public and the suggested donation is $5.
