The “The Witcher” universe continues to grow, we just got the first spin-off on Netflix with “The Witcher: Blood Origin”. And yet we will soon have to say goodbye to protagonist Henry Cavill: he will leave after the third season. The series will continue anyway, but with Liam Hemsworth as Geralt. But as I said, there is one more season with Henry Cavill and that awaits us on Netflix in the summer of 2023. Now the first trailer has been released:
As the trailer shows, there is an innovation this time: The season will be released in two parts. The first half of Season 3 will be available on June 29, 2023, and the second half on July 27. So fans can spend all summer with Cavill’s witcher before it’s time to say goodbye.
The fantasy series is based on the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, season 3 should be based on the part “The Time of Contempt”. So it’s clear: The new episodes of “The Witcher” will mostly be about the fact that many different factions are after Ciri (Freya Allan): the kings and queens of the Northern Kingdoms, Emhyr (Bart Edwards), Ciri’s father and the emperor of Nilfgaard, the Wild Hunt, the elves around Francesca (Mecia Simson) and more – they all want Ciri and/or her blood.
Ciri not only has Geralt as her protector, but also Yennefer (Anya Chalotra). And by the way, Ciri will soon have her own adventure on Netflix – because the next spin-off is already in the works and will most likely be released between The Witcher season 3 and season 4. In “The Witcher: Rats“ Ciri joins the so-called rat gang, a group of young criminals. You can find out more about this here:
