The first actor for Amazon Prime Video’s “James Bond” series is certain: a completely different 007 villain

Some time ago, Amazon acquired the legendary MGM movie studio – and with it the biggest brand of the forge with the roaring lion: James Bond! Immediately after the acquisition, it was clear that Amazon wanted to take advantage of this with its in-house streaming service Prime Video. While it’s clear that future 007 adventures will remain a cinema exclusive, there are other avenues. The documentary “The Sound of 007” has been released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and a series is being created for the streaming service in which numerous contestants will compete for one million British pounds.

The game show series “007’s Road to a Million”, which was announced shortly after the MGM acquisition, now has a real actor: brian cox According to the announcement, as “The Controller” will control the fate of the contestants. He is the mean guy who, with his tasks, travels and questions, creates obstacles for the contestants, who compete in pairs, on their way to a million.

This makes Brian Cox a completely different Bond villain, the likes of which has never been seen before. He’s not going for world domination, and he doesn’t want to go after 007, but make it hard for the game show contestants to win the money.

This is 007’s road to a million

The eight-episode “007’s Road to a Million” series is co-produced by Bond executives Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The show pits contestants in duos against each other in various challenges around the world to win £1 million as agents on 007’s trail. The matches take place in well-known Bond locations such as Venice, Jamaica or the Scottish Highlands. There are physical tasks to complete and quiz questions to answer.

It is not yet known whether other actors will appear in roles besides Cox and may also help the competitors. The game show will debut on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2023.
