Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka simply belong together. Especially the fans should have remembered their time together on “Die Wochenshow”. Here the two created cult figures, such as Ottmar Zittlau, Ricky, Brisko Schneider or the Schlager couple Wolfgang & Anneliese, who also revive Engelke and Pastewka for special programs several times after the end of the comedy show. As good as the two work as a singing duo, it can also be seen in the current season “LOL: Last One Laughing”, where they challenge the candidates like Jenny and Mel with fantastic hits like “Feelings are no meat substitute”.
Amazingly, however, the two “LOL” faves never teamed up on a series project starring them. But that’s about to change…
This is “never ever”
Because now the shooting of the joint series project “neverby Pastewka and Engelke. There is not too much information about the plot of the series yet, the press release says rather cryptically so far:
“The eight-part series is about fate and chance, revenge and forgiveness, friendships and tantrums, illegal parking and cat patches, and: the eternal desire for a happy ending.”
In addition, according to executive producer Jule Everts, the core of the series should be a classic comedic coming-of-age story, in which the main characters are not in their twenties, but in their early fifties and in a typical small-crisis situation in urban life.

The first photo of the series is a bit more revealing, from which we can at least guess in which setting the series takes place. For example, Bastian Pastewka is wearing a functional jacket with the words “Sport Hartmann” on it – apparently the new series will be at least partly set in a sporting goods store.
In addition to Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke, Lea Freund (“Between us the wall”), Fritzi Haberlandt (“Babylon Berlin”), Edin Hasanovic (“Nothing new in the West”), Peter Jordan (“And who will take the dog ? “), Michael Wittenborn (“Toni Erdmann”), Serkan Kaya (“The Peacock”) and Caro Scrimali (“Red Ribbon Club”) can be seen in front of the camera.
The comedy series is produced by bildundtonfabrik (btf), which has also been responsible for successful formats such as “How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)” and “Neo Magazin Royale”. The series is scheduled to launch on Amazon Prime Video in 2024.
