German-speaking Switzerland

Have you ever tasted a Malbec from Aargau or a Viognier from Zurich? This may change soon! The “Open Wine Cellar” event series will begin on April 29, 2023 in German-speaking Switzerland. For four days, you can look behind the scenes of more than 200 vineyard producers, stroll through the vineyards or enjoy local specialties.

Neuchatel

One thing is clear. A trip to Lake Neuchatel is wonderful. Even more rosy hopes await you when the 40 wine cellars between Vaumarcus and Le Landeron open their doors on 12-13 May 2023. Try the local rosé Oeuil de Perdrix or a sparkling sparkling wine in front of the wonderful lake view and have a good time.

Geneva

In terms of area, Geneva is Switzerland’s third largest wine canton, ahead of Ticino and Zurich. In the temperate climate of Lac Léman, the red varieties, mainly Gamay, but also Pinot noir and Gamaret grow particularly well. On May 13, 2023, it’s time to visit local winemakers.

Valais

Valais promises a worthwhile journey south. On April 22, 2023, tastings and a barricade race will be held in the wine village of Salgesch. In teams of two, wooden barrels are brought forward on a course as quickly as possible. It will continue brightly on May 18, 2023. Cuban guitar legend Eliades Ochoa is opening the Open Wine Cellars, which will run until 20 May 2023, with a free concert in Sion.

Ticino

Let’s go to the sunroom, and preferably twice! Between 20-21 May 2023, Merlot is waiting for you with all its aspects at Sopraceneri. Sottoceneri arrives a week later. A magnet for wine lovers is Corte del vino Ticino (Ticino Wine House) in Morbio Inferiore. 45 winemakers are represented on the wine list here, showing a cross-section of Ticino’s winemaking.

vaud

On the weekend of Pentecost 27 and 28 May 2023, the charm of Switzerland and of course Chasselas will draw you to Vaud. You will definitely not be deprived of flavors. Besides the terroir wines, bakers, confectioners and Gruyère AOP cheese certified delicacies are also on offer.
