Actor Woody Harrelson has confirmed that he could be the paternal brother of fellow pro Matthew McConaughey, who has already discussed the possibility.
During his appearance on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” this Wednesday night, Harrelson backed up what McCounaghey said in an April 14 interview on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast.
Although he did so between jokes, the actor made it clear “there is truth” to what McConaughey said.
And he explained that once when they were both with McConaughey’s mother, she said to Harrelson, “I met your father.” And he did it, he added, in a way “full of innuendo“.
According to Harrelson, his partner’s mother took “sabbatical” from his relationship who until now was believed to be McConaughey’s father, and had a relationship with his father.
Harrelson and McConaughey are not ruling out a DNA test
He admitted that they both thought about getting one DNA test to see if that was true, although he also explained that it was about something much more important to McConaughey.
“He feels like he’s losing his father. But I tell him: no, you will get another father and brother,” said Harrelson, who was with the actor in this interview. Justin Theroux his colleague in the new series,”Plumbers of the White House”.
Theroux teased Harrelson’s confession by noting that he too would like to be his partner’s brother.
Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have close friendship for years. In 2014, they starred together in the first season of the hit series “True Detective”.
