Invitation to literary competitions in Panama

Everything is ready for the reception of works that will participate in seven literary contests in the country.

They are the National Prize for Literature for Children and Youth, Carlos Francisco Changmarín; Youth Poetry Competition, Gustavo Batista Cedeño; National Prize for Literature, Ricardo Miró; and the short story competition, Medio Pollito.

In addition to the newly created competitions are the National Youth Competition, Rosa María Britton; National Storytelling Award, Ariel Barría Alvarado; and competition for published work, Pedro Correa Vásquez.

These tenders seek to promote and encourage production literature among children youth and adults.

The call is open to Panamanian writers until by birth or naturalizationwith residence in the country and abroad, in the categories of stories for children and young people, poetry, essays, literary creativity and novels, the organizers of the competition reported in a press release from the Ministry of Culture.

Closing date for different competitions are as follows:

– Half a chicken short story competition, May 31

– Contest for the published works of Pedro Correa Vásquez, June 13

– Rosa María Britton National Short Story Contest for Young People, June 19.

– Ricardo Miró National Literary Competition, June 30.

– State award for Literature for children and youth Carlos Francisco Changmarín, July 7.

– Gustavo Batista youth poetry competition, July 23.

– Ariel Alvarado National Storytelling Award, August 17.
