The next star for the live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” has been announced: she will play Nani!

There’s a lot going on at Disney right now in terms of live-action remakes. While Halle Bailey will star in The Little Mermaid, Rachel Zegler will take on the titular role of Snow White. But that’s not all, as the live-action reboot of “Lilo & Stitch” will see newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo. This is the first acting role ever for the young talent.

While it has also been announced that The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis will star in Lilo & Stitch, it has now been confirmed who will play Nani, Lilo’s sister, in the live-action film: Sydney Elizabeth Agudong. The young actress was previously seen in “NCIS”, “Infamously In Love”, “On My Block” and “West Michigan”. She was born and raised on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

Directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp (“Marcel The Shell With Shoes One”), the Lilo & Stitch remake will feature a mix of live-action and CGI elements. Aliens, which includes the blue crook sting, arise from the powerful computer. Chris Sanders, who also voiced Stitch in the 2002 original animated film, is expected to return for the role.

That’s what “Lilo & Stitch” is all about

Lilo & Stitch is all about little Lilo, who lives in Hawaii with her sister Nani. Lilo adopts a creature she initially mistakes for a dog. In reality, however, Stitch is a creature from outer space who is the result of an experiment – and who has little in mind other than destruction and chaos. Soon, however, the two bond and Lilo does everything she can to protect her new friend from his pursuers, who want to catch the escaped boy again…

The “Lilo & Stitch” reboot will then be released directly to the Disney+ streaming service. When is not yet clear, but it will probably take a while. Before that, there will be live-action Disney additions in cinemas: “Arielle, the Mermaid” will start in German cinemas on May 25, 2023. “Snow White,” starring Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, will follow on March 21, 2024.
