Sauvignon Blanc

Highly aromatic grape variety with its sharp acidity, known mainly from the French Loire Valley and New Zealand. There are wineries in this country that have long bottled excellent Sauvignon Blancs, reducing the demand for foreign wines. The proof: A Swiss representative from the Canton of Neuchâtel won a tasting of Sauvignon Blanc by Blick last year, featuring over 40 premium wines from around the world. Sauvignon blanc is also the perfect accompaniment to cooked asparagus or a spring salad.

Petite Arvine

The almost mouth-dancing parade white wine variety of the canton of Valais convinces with vibrant grapefruit and lemon flavors and often leaves a slightly salty impression on the finish. Most wines are made dry, samples with a slight remnant of sweetness are called Flétrie, and in some years sweet wine varieties made from noble rotten fruit are also pressed. It goes perfectly with crisp white wines, soft cheese or salmon roulade.

pinot noir

Filigree and fruity red wines of this grape variety are available in many cantons. In the canton of Neuchâtel you will find a special type of expansion not quite suitable for spring: Oeil de Perdrix. Here, a salmon-colored rosé is pressed from delicate Pinot Noir grapes, which enhances each spring’s aperitif with the fresh aromas, soft texture and lively acidity of red berries. It goes well with light fish dishes, poultry and Asian cuisine.
