“Just like the Beatles, but a thousand times more dangerous and a billion times dumber”: Cult series volume returns with feature film

Attention Metal-Heads: Finally there’s more from the best band in the world! “Metalocalypse” ran from 2006 to 2013 on Adult Swim (here on the TNT series). The series follows an extremely successful metal band who, by the end of season one, have a gross income that puts them in the seventh largest economy in the world. Series creators Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha are “like the Beatles, only a thousand times more dangerous and a billion times dumber”.

2023 The Princes of Darkness Will Return: In addition to an original feature film titled “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar‘, by co-creator Breda Klein is being staged, fans can look forward not only to an accompanying soundtrack to the film, but also to a new album. Death Album IV will be the band’s first full-length album since 2012’s Death Album III.

This is what Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar is all about

The feature-length animated film picks up after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth and follows the special series Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem, in which Dethklok frontman Nathan Explosion (Brendon Small) must deal with brutal professional and romantic misadventures. At the same time, however, he must fulfill an ancient prophecy and take on the ultimate songwriting challenge to save the planet. With his ego damaged, can Nathan Explosion save his band, stop the Metalocalypse and face the ultimate evil?

If you still can’t get enough of the cartoon band after all the good news, you might want to reconsider your holiday plans for this year, because this year the band will be touring again – along with Babymetal! The tour itself kicks off on August 30 and will play a total of twenty-nine shows – sadly only in North America. You can get the tour dates here to see.

“Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar” stars alongside band spokesmen and series creators Brendan Small and Tommy Blacha, acting and music greats such as Mark Hamill (“Star Wars”) Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”) , anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee and ‘A Clockwork Orange’ acting icon Malcolm McDowell can be heard. When the film will be released and where it will be screened in this country is not yet known.
