The German cinema release of “Saw 10” is finally a fact!

James Wan (“Aquaman”) hardly expected this when he directed his short film “Saw” in 2003. A year later it became a cinema mega hit that is now one of the absolute classics of modern horror cinema. But that’s not all: in 2004, “Saw” also laid the foundations for one of the highest-grossing film series ever. We are now at the tenth chapter of the torture porn saga about cult killer Jigsaw (Tobin Bell).

After it was already announced in mid-February that “Saw X” would run in American cinemas on October 27, 2023 – which coincides with Halloween as usual – the German date is now also known: On November 30, 2023, the latest “Saw” joke will also flicker across the local screens in this country.

This is Saw 10

James Wan is once again on board as producer, but has nothing to do with the franchise – as with the predecessors – in terms of direction and screenplay. The staging of “Saw 10” is now taking over Kevin Greutertwho previously directed “Saw VI” and “Saw VII” and was also the editor responsible for editing “Saw IV” and “Jigsaw”. So you can talk about a true franchise veteran here.

As Kevin Greutert has already announced, “Saw 10” is going back to the roots with more force. Tobin Bell returns as John Kramer aka Jigsaw. Shawnee Smith, who was one of Jigsaw’s victims in Part 1 and then apprenticed to the killer, is also back on board. It is said that “Saw 10” will be a prequel and will play before “Saw 3”. Whether it will ultimately only be about flashbacks remains to be seen. What exactly this is about is not yet known.

Other cast members of Saw 10 include Steven Brand (Vikings: Valhalla), Paulette Hernandez (Revenge of the Pentagon), Michael Beach (Tulsa King), Octavio Hinojosa, and Joshua Okamoto, both of whom are also known as Narcos: Mexico . Synnove Lund (“Headhunters”). The screenplay is by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The duo previously wrote the script for Saw: Spiral.

Volume 10 is currently in post-production. But we probably won’t have to wait too long for a first trailer to appear, which hopefully gives us a little more information about the content of the film.
