It was only over the years that “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” was able to rise in favor of Indy fans. Still, “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” are for many the absolute highlights of the adventure franchise. However, it is always worth returning to “Indiana Jones 2”. Not only because the part is much darker, but also because – like for example at the very beginning – there are nice details to discover.

As we all know, George Lucas not only developed Star Wars, but was also one of the creative minds behind the Indiana Jones series, contributing to the story as well as serving as a producer. It is therefore not surprising that there is an overlap between the two world-famous and equally popular series.

The club has a special name

Indeed, if you remember anything about “Indiana Jones 2”, it’s probably the groundbreaking and absolutely spectacular opening, which after a famous musical sequence leads to a breakneck chase over hill and dale. But hold on! The nightclub in Shanghai, where the chaotic party takes place, has a very special name that we can all probably relate to: Obi Wan. Here’s the proof:

In case anyone is wondering what the name is all about, Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most iconic and important characters of the “Star Wars” universe. This first appeared in 1977 in “Star Wars: Episode IV”, played there by Alec Guinness. Ewan McGregor later reprized this role in the prequel trilogy and in the Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi”.
