Metallica has unveiled the title track from their upcoming studio album, “72 Seasons.”
The seven and a half minute piece that opens the new album, “72 Seasons” is the fourth previous offering from the album of the same name, following the recent release of the “epic” (Rolling Stone) “If Darkness Had A Son” which Consequence hailed as “a sonic retrospective of (Metallica’s) career”, as well as the “searing” (Guitar World) “Screaming Suicide ” and “thundering, dizzying” (Billboard) lead single “Lux Æterna”.
“72 seasons” sets the tone for an expansive and relentless 12-song, 77-minute album.
The Hetfield/Ulrich/Hammett-penned epic is nothing less than the embodiment of the concept behind the new record’s title, as previously described in James Hetfield’s own words.
“72 Seasons”, the track, is now available for streaming and download and as an instant gratification track with all pre-orders. The album “72 Seasons” will be released on April 14, 2023 via Metallica’s Blackened Recordings.
