“Interview with a Vampire” really did, and kind of stepped out of the shadows of the 1990s cult movie of the same name. While Jacob Anderson returns as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, there’s a big cast change for the female lead: Bailey bass will no longer take the side of Claudia, but on Delaney Hayles to replace.
In an official statement, AMC wrote: “Baily Bass is a talented actress who has done a remarkable job bringing the character of Claudia to life in Anne Riece’s ‘Interview with the Vampire.’ For several reasons, Delainey Hayles will appear as Claudia in season two. We are grateful to Bailey for her unforgettable performance in the first season and wish her all the best.”
Also Bailey Bass described her ride from “Interview with a Vampire” rather cryptic and referenced “various contingencies”. The real reasons are not known to date, but it is probably not about the obligatory artistic differences. Instead, private factors could also be decisive for Bass that she is no longer seen as Claudia in season 2.
The shooting of the second season “Interview with a Vampire” is scheduled for next week in Prague. Filming will also take place in Paris and New Orleans.
