Amazon has long been known for its own product lines, which are often very well received. The Fire TV Sticks are reliable streaming devices for those who don’t have a smart TV. The blockbuster series produced by Amazon such as “The Boys” or “Rings of Power” are also impressive and show that Amazon means business.
Matching the visually stunning adventures in “Rings of Power” the online giant unveiled its own smart TV product lines yesterday. Here you can get an overview of the Fire TV 2, Fire TV 4 and Fire TV Omni series:
The premium-class Fire TV Omni could become the new TV price-performance king
Especially the premium models are not stingy with features. Not only are the Fire TV omni televisions particularly “smart” thanks to built-in Alexa voice control, they also score points with a QLED display that can handle local dimming for better contrasts. You can secure the models of the Omni series until April 11, 9 a.m. at a very attractive pre-order price. The TVs should come out on June 1.
The Omni series supports the latest generation of image enhancements. The latest HDR iteration HDR10+ Adaptive, an alternative to Dolby Vision IQ, automatically adjusts picture quality according to room brightness. But it gets even better: Dolby Vision IQ is also supported. Dolby Vision also measures the ambient brightness with a sensor and thus adjusts the HDR image.
Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) is the other major flagship of the Fire TV Omni series. With this latest evolution in LED technology, the LEDs are distributed over the entire screen and can therefore be dimmed more accurately. Parts of the backlight can even be turned off completely, so that a very deep black and similarly good contrasts as with OLED TVs can be achieved.

Alexa also makes Amazon Smart TVs
Naturally, Amazon insists on building the full streaming power of their Fire TV Sticks into their televisions. All major streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Co. are supported. Extra microphones are built into the TV for voice control with Alexa. And Alexa has learned something new: you can now start video calls, view live footage from your camera, or control your compatible smart home devices. Everything from the couch.
The cheap alternatives: Fire TV-2 and Fire-4
In addition to the Omni series, Amazon introduced two other TV series. The Download the series Fire TV 2* is aimed at casual users without high demands, offers Full HD resolution, legacy HDMI 1.4 connections and is available in 32 and 40 inches. Prices start at 249 euros if you pre-order before April 11.
The Download the Fire TV 4 series* on the other hand, comes with true 4K and HDMI 2.0. You already have them from 349 euros if you pre-order them before April 11. You can certainly enjoy home cinema evenings with the 43, 50 and 55 inch TVs, but we recommend the Omni series, which offers a much better picture with its QLED display and is well worth the small extra cost.
