Not just season 2: The creators of “The Last Of Us” are already planning season 3 – and the template is to blame

With the ninth episode, the first season of “The Last Of Us” ended much like the underlying first computer game. Fans know, of course: the story continues! The Last of Us Part II, released for the PlayStation 4 in 2020, is even bigger (and darker) than the first part. How good that it has already been confirmed that the series is also moving into the next round and is now taking on this second game.

Now the creators of the two series Craig Mazin And Neil Drukman confirms the case: “The Last of Us Part II” was actually made over one season of the HBO hit. In an interview with GK they talked about it “There was no way” to transfer the entire “Part II” game in one season.

However, the two makers have deliberately not yet revealed how many seasons it will ultimately be. Still, the plan to bring Part II to life is pretty concrete.

So we can look forward to several more rounds of The Last Of Us. But when can we expect season 2? The creators of the project have not yet officially commented on this. What is certain is that we cannot count on it in 2023 and it is also not certain that “Part II” will start in 2024. After all, season 1 was shot for 200 days and the scripts for a second season shouldn’t even be finished yet. It is therefore more likely that there will be a sequel in 2025.
