The Grammy Museum shatters Shakira’s preconceived notions

The exhibition held at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles (California, USA) aims to dispel prejudices about the Colombian singer Shakira by showing the versatility and all the nuances that surround her career.

“People can have a concrete idea of ​​who Shakira is, as a rocker or as a pop star, and I think this exhibition will give the public a more complex idea,” Jasen Emmons, curator of the “Shakira, Shakira” exhibition, told EFE. : The Grammy Museum Experience”.

Singer, songwriter, dancer, musician and producer are the words that describe one of the most recognized Latinas in music industry and popular culture.

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1977. At the age of 14, he started building a career as a professional singer with an album “Magic” And despite the fact that this was a commercial failure, the Colombian woman did not stop believing in her talent.

Organized in four rooms, the exhibition covers various aspects of the singer’s career and brings the author closer to the audience “Anthology” up to 55 iconic items that Shakira used at key moments in her career.

Among them, two suits that he wore in Super Bowl 2020a pink guitar with crystals that he played during his 2007 “Oral Fixation” tour, one of his notebooks with Songs handwritten letters and a Spanish-English dictionary that helped him compose songs for “Laundry Service”.

“95% of the exhibits are from his personal collection. Fortunately, she keeps a lot of material from her career and her team provided us with everything we asked for,” added Emmons.

Attendees will also be able to hear and see Shakira talk about her life as a singer, the challenges she has faced as a Latina in the industry, and interesting anecdotes which he went through in his more than 30 years of musical experience.

No sign of Piqué or finance

Emmons and Dousdebes believe there is no better time to present an exhibition dedicated to Shakira after her rise career in recent months with the introduction of songs such as “I congratulate you” with Rau Alejandro, “Monotónía” with Ozuna and very recently “TQG” near Carol G..
