Casting hammer: Jackie Chan, Marvel hero and ‘Fast & Furious’ star lets loose in new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie

In 2020, we first reported on another reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, after Michael Bay brought the popular Klopper Turtles back to the screens in 2014 and 2016. But now everything should be different: Comedy star Seth Rogen, of all people, is following in his footsteps as a producer, promising a whole new style. For the cult revival, he managed to gather a particularly well-known cast for the microphone.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem‘ is scheduled to run in German cinemas on August 3, 2023. So it’s high time to slowly dub the animation film. Now the cast has been revealed – and it should certainly spark excitement among many fans of “TMNT”, superheroes and martial arts:

The film’s voice cast includes martial arts superstars Jackie Chanwho will play Mentor Splinter and Marvel star Paul Rudd like a mondo gecko. So we’ll see/hear Rudd on screen at least three times this year – the currently ongoing Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania will be followed later this year by Ghostbuster 2: Firehouse (theater release: December 23). get to see Jackie Chan as an animated hero for the first time since Kung Fu Panda 3.

Also on board John Ceena as Rhino Rocksteady, who returns to cinemas ahead of time in the tenth Fast & Furious film Fast X. His appearance in “TMNT: Mutant Mayhem” is nevertheless special: after all, fans have been waiting for years to experience Cena and Chan together in an action-adventure – in “Project X-Traction” aka “SNAFU”. It’s still uncertain when or if we’ll ever see the action cracker that’s been awesome for years:

Mutant Mayhem also stars X-Men star Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube (“21 Jump Street”) as Superfly, Breaking Bad villain Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Maya Rudolph (“Damn you again”) as Cynthia Utrom and Seth Rogen as Bebop. The four eponymous battle turtles Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael are voiced by young actors Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon.

That’s why we’re looking forward to “Mutant Mayhem”

While the in-sync cast of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” is quite remarkable, the movie’s idea generators in particular make you want to reboot. With deer and EvanGoldberg finally the creators of the animation madness stand”sausage party“as well as the mercilessly evil serial hit”the boysbehind Mutant Mayhem. So they have already proven that they can bring something new to both the animation and superhero genres. What happens when they both merge? In any case, the title should not promise chaos and destruction for nothing…

And director too Jeff Rowe raises hopes for an absolutely exceptional cinematic adventure. After all, the latter brought us one of the most creative, fun and entertaining action-animated films of recent times: “The Mitchells against the machines”. If they’re allowed to indulge their visual ingenuity in the “Turtles” adventure so unbridled even from a distance, a trip to the movie theater for the visual kick alone is probably worth it.
