Actually, Amir Arison left the series “The Blacklist”. At the end of the ninth season, his character Aram Mojtabai announced his departure from the FBI. Ten years of manhunt alongside Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) has exhausted the IT specialist. But the tenth season starts with ex-cop Mojtabai. After a time jump he seems to have recovered, he visits the Museum Of Modern Art in New York and suddenly sees a man from his past: Raymond Reddington!
The man does not even respond to his call, but gets into a taxi and drives away. Aram calls his old boss Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) directly to inform him that Red has returned to the US after being missing for months. In the middle of the conversation, a bomb explodes in the street. Everything points to Red planting the bomb…
Season 10 of “The Blacklist”: Chasing Raymond Reddington
Amir Arison’s appearance in the first episode of the tenth season is just an extended cameo for the fans. It won’t be a long term return. Instead, his old colleagues Cooper, Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) get new support: in the first episode of the tenth season, they meet Siya Malik (Anya Banerjee). The MI6 agent turns out to be the daughter of an old friend: her mother, Meera Malik (Parminder Nagra), was once a member of Cooper’s Blacklist team – until she was killed (in the season one finale).
Together they must now find out why Red is back and seems to be planting bombs. Fans of the series should quickly have their suspicions. Finally, at the end of the ninth season, it was revealed that Chinese spy Wujing (Chin Han), one of the very first blacklisters caught by Red and the FBI (in the third episode of the first season), discovers that the legendary criminal Raymond Reddington has an interface with US authorities and was responsible for his arrest. He’s out for revenge – and he’s been given a list for it. This lists numerous other blacklisters, whom he now recruits to join forces to track down and take down Red.
Save vs. Wujin promises to be a brutal duel
It seems that Red already knows that this pursuer is on his trail. Because without wanting to reveal too much about the episode, it can be quickly assumed that the bombing was an attack by Red on Wujin. The legendary crime janitor may not just want to play the role of the hunted, but sees himself in the well-known role of the hunter.
In the next twelve episodes of the final “The Blacklist” season announced so far, this could result in a brutal duel between two men who will walk over dead bodies. In “The Blacklist” best fashion, the season opener also raises new questions and puzzles – especially once again what happened to Red in the meantime. For example, why is the legendary crime boss, who is usually accompanied by a bodyguard and driver, now alone and resorting to public transport?
And with the Twist series “The Blacklist” you should be prepared for any twist anyway. Maybe it wasn’t Red who attacked here? Is there a double? Everything is possible here.
“The Blacklist”: when and how can I watch season 10 in Germany?
Unfortunately, at the time of publishing this article, you won’t be able to stream the new episode from German VoD providers. But we are optimistic that this will change in the near future. With the ninth season, it only took a few days for Amazon Prime Video, iTunes and Co. also had the episode on offer – but only in the original English version and only as a VoD purchase.
Until there is a German dubbed version in a streaming subscription, you will probably have to wait a little longer. Until now, Netflix has always been allowed to release a new season about a month after the American broadcast of the full season. The twelfth episode of the tenth season is currently scheduled for release on May 14, 2023. The season would not arrive on Netflix until mid-June at the earliestwhich coincides with the release of previous seasons.
