The third season “The Mandalorian” will start on Disney+ on March 1, 2023. And it doesn’t mean the end of the series yet: maker Jon Favreau revealed in an interview with a French TV channel that he had already written the entire fourth season. It is necessary to plan ahead as he and his partner Dave Filoni want to tell a consistent story across series. So everything should be like this feel history, and so when planning shows like Ahsoka or Skeleton Crew, which take place at the same time as The Mandalorian, it’s important to know what’s happening in the main series around Mando and Grogu.
*
A series particularly closely associated with The Mandalorian is “Boba Fett’s book“. In the first season, those responsible even took a break from their title character to focus on the reunion of Mandalorian Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu. “The Book of Boba Fett” was a success despite some more reserved voices. In the end, considerably more people than before would have watched “The Mandalorian”.
Nevertheless, nothing has been heard from the spin-off since the season finale, which was already a whole year ago. But that doesn’t mean that Boba Fett, played by Temuera Morrison, is suddenly a thing of the past. This is according to the latest information from insiders of “Stars Wars”. .
Return of Boba Fett – Season 2? 4th season? New series?
They were able to find out that new “Star Wars” props are being built in California. One part is clear for The Mandalorian’s fourth season. Among the props are some closely associated with Boba Fett, confirming his return to the “Star Wars” world. But what are these made for?
Of course, there is a suspicion that they too are for the fourth season of “The Mandalorian” when props are built for them. But it is also conceivable that a second season of “The Book of Boba Fett” is being worked on. So reported makingstarwars.net, that some of their sources, who work directly on the props themselves, believe they are making them for a second season of the Boba Fett series.
But there is an entirely different possibility. It’s been rumored for a while that all of the series Favreau and Filoni are responsible for will result in a major crossover event – sort of like “The Avengers” of the “Star Wars” universe. In this crossover series, Mando, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and other co-stars like Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) would then have to face a major threat together.
An indication of this could be a detail about the division of labor between the two current creators of the “Star Wars” series. Jon Favreau is currently focusing more on The Mandalorian, while Dave Filoni recently took care of Ahsoka. According to insiders, Filoni is now working on another project after completing Ahsoka’s first season – and this is emphatically not a second season of the series starring the former Jedi. So Filoni seems to be working on a “Star Wars” thing that hasn’t been announced yet. The crossing? Or the second season “The Book of Boba Fett”? Or something completely different?
That much is certain: Boba Fett will be back soon!
Bee it’s important to note that the post is not an announcement of a second season of “The Book of Boba Fett.” The only thing that is certain is that the character will return. Incidentally, in addition to the project for which props are now being made, this could also happen earlier in the third season of “The Mandalorian” in our opinion. It is quite possible that a performance by Boba Fett was also filmed for this, which has been kept secret until now.
An announcement may be coming soon. The Star Wars Celebration will take place in London over Easter weekend in April 2023. New projects are likely to be unveiled there – perhaps including a second season of “The Book of Boba Fett” or an all-new series like the potential crossover event? Only time will tell, but one thing is pretty sure: Boba Fett will be back!
