Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Sequel: Work on Ant-Man 4 has already begun!

It’s become a nice tradition at the end of many MCU movies: after the credits and the credits scenes, right at the end, there’s usually an overlay: “Thor Will Return” was the last time it was said in ” Thor: Love And Thunder” and “Black Panther Will Return” at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But bee “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘ it says instead: ‘Kang Will Return’.

So maybe there won’t be a fourth Ant-Man movie? But! The overlay at the end is probably just to indicate that the villain introduced in “Quantumania” and embodied by Jonathan Majors, or at least his variants introduced in the credits scenes, will continue to play an important role in the Marvel Universe. In fact, there could also be “Ant-Man 4” aka “Ant-Man And The Wasp 3” aka the movie’s official name, producer Stephen Broussard revealed in an interview with the site. “We are already thinking about it [‚Ant-Man 4‘] afterwards,” says Broussard literal. Each film is a struggle in itself that leaves its mark, but then you start to think about what to do next.

“The mills are starting to grind, there is nothing we can do about that. I don’t want to say exactly what the plans are yet, but you are powerless. Conversations and whispers between me and [Regisseur Peyton Reed] And [MCU-Mastermind Kevin Feige] already started” so Broussard.

The first talks about “Ant-Man 4” have therefore already taken place, but whether there will actually be a sequel will of course also depend on the success of “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” – and on the willingness of the actors and film crew.

What could happen in “Ant-Man 4”?

With Peyton Reed already involved in the talks, there’s a good chance he’s directing his fourth Ant-Man film. When we asked him about the whole thing in the interview, Reed backed off a bit and wouldn’t comment specifically on it just yet. But also one of the stars has already shown interest: Michael Douglas.

In a “Quantumania” red carpet interview, Douglas said he would star in a fourth movie — provided his character Hank Pym, the first Ant-Man, could die in it. You should never place too much value on such quickly said phrases from the red carpet, but that would certainly be an option, especially since Douglas and his screen partner Michelle Pfeiffer aren’t getting any younger either.

However, there was another possibility Evangeline Lilly came into play, which advocated for a solo movie “The Wasp”. So the focus could shift from Ant-Man more to Hope van Dyne aka The Wasp, who actually came up quite briefly in “Quantumania” compared to the other four heroes in the main character quintet. In the interview, Lilly explained to us that she would like to explore the dark side of Hope.

And also an Ant-Man movie with Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) takes center stage again, would certainly be conceivable, possibly along with her father Scott aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd). At the same time, many Marvel fans suspect that Cassie – just like in the comics – could become part of a Young Avengers team. Such a project has not yet been announced.

Anyway It’s still very early to think seriously about the plot of an Ant-Man 4, because until then a lot will happen in the MCU and in “Quantumania” there aren’t really many tracks for a sequel. Unlike the aforementioned “Thor: Love And Thunder” or “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, the main focus here is on the preparation of “Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers 6: Secret Wars”.
