For “Deadpool 3”: Hugh Jackman shows off his new Wolverine muscles – and teases Ryan Reynolds (again).

While Logan: The Wolverine was supposed to be his farewell appearance as a clawed mutant, Hugh Jackman will make a major Wolverine comeback in Deadpool 3 and will take on Ryan Reynolds’ foul-mouthed mercenary in the MCU blockbuster. A few weeks ago revealed Jackmanthat he will mainly use the six months he has until filming begins to get back into Marvel hero form.

Even though he currently has good fitness requirements for the role due to regular Broadway appearances, intensive training is again necessary to get Wolverine as fit on screen as we know from his previous cinema appearances – even though Hugh Jackman is now 54 years old. And at his – or rather Ryan Reynolds’ – age, Jackman now also played along on Twitter, where he demonstrated with a photo what impressive fruit the said training is apparently already bearing:

‘He’s only 46. I’m older. But it’s not a competition,” Jackman captioned the photo, which showed off his taut biceps, and pointed directly at his co-star Ryan Reynolds (eight years his junior). The two Hollywood stars are not only known for their self-deprecation in public since the announcement of “Deadpool 3”. And so, of course, an answer from Reynolds was not long in coming this time either.

After the first part of his answer, it still sounds like the Deadpool actor could also praise personal trainer Beth Lewis, who poses with him in Jackman’s photo, for getting Jackman back into shape, but then Reynolds is only referring to his compliment to Lewis himself and simply omits Jackman: “Beth Lewis – whatever you do, it works! Your arms look incredible.

It certainly won’t be the last time Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have had a fun altercation ahead of the “Deadpool” sequel. After all, it will be a while before the movie comes out: It won’t be until November 6, 2024 that we’ll see who will finally put on the bigger muscles in “Deadpool 3”.
