Competition for the Avengers: Another new superhero universe featuring Vin Diesel could be coming

At the end of 2019, it briefly looked like Marvel and the Avengers would not only compete with DC and the Justice League for the favor of the superhero-loving public in the future, but also with the characters from the Valiant comic universe. But even before Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel, the first planned movie in the Valiant Cinematic Universe, hit theaters, the planned universe seemed to be falling apart again.

Than while “Bloodshot” was released by Studio Sony in early 2020, competitor Paramount took over Valiant’s planned comic adaptation”Harbinger“. Both movies would each get a sequel and then culminate in a crossover titled Harbinger Wars, which would have been the equivalent of Justice League or The Avengers. But because there were now two different studios involved in the planned universe, it looked bad then.

Brave universe at Paramount instead of Sony?

But now there’s actually a glimmer of hope for fans of superhero movies in general and the Valiant comics in particular: because it looks like Sony’s planned “Harbinger” universe is moving to Paramount.

A film adaptation of the Valiant comics about the superhero Faith has been in the works for several years. Like the American industry magazine reported now is the Valiant film formerly developed by SonyTo trust“ but now in the works at Paramount and has with me Emily Carmichael a blockbuster-savvy new screenwriter (“Pacific Rim: Uprising”, “Jurassic World 3”).

Also writes that Paramount continues to work on Harbinger. Paul Downs Colaizzo (“Brittany Runs a Marathon”) will still direct.

“Harbinger” follows a group of super-powered teens who rebel against the ruthless corporation that wants to exploit them and their powers. A sort of female version of Superman, Faith is also characterized by her curves, which deviate from the otherwise widely held ideal of superhero beauty.

And what about Vin Diesel?

However, it’s unclear if Vin Diesel is still part of the Valiant Cinematic Universe, which is obviously still planned. However, in late 2020, a second “Bloodshot” movie was said to be coming, and Vin Diesel himself made corresponding allusions. And after years of hints, “Riddick 4” was finally officially announced – so a “Bloodshot 2” doesn’t seem impossible.

Whether Sony and Paramount then agree to loan Vin Diesel for Harbinger Wars (just like Sony and Marvel did with Spider-Man), whether Paramount will release Bloodshot 2, or whether the Valiant crossover will be without Bloodshot (or at least case without Vin Diesel ) has to make do with it, the future will tell.
