2x Flash, 2x Batman, Supergirl and a “Man Of Steel” villain: meet the DC generations in the new trailer for “The Flash”

The Flash is the fastest superhero in the DC Universe, but he’s taken his time making his solo movie debut. A “The Flash” movie has been in the works since 2014 (!), but countless filmmakers have failed in their attempts to bring the project to the big screen. Directed by “ES” director Andy Muschietti and scripted by DC veteran screenwriter Christina Hodson (“Birds Of Prey”), it’s almost time – the first trailer for “The Flash,” which has now been released, should clearly all doubts are gone.

And doubts persisted even when the film finally went into production under the direction of Muschietti and Hodson. Than Ezra Millerstarring Barry Allen / The Flash, the most important person in front of the camera, caused a stir in 2022 with numerous scandals and crimes. In the meantime, Studio Warner is said to have even considered not releasing the $200 million blockbuster at all – as recently happened with “Batgirl”.

But the DC blockbuster somehow got a handle on this crisis, too, as Miller publicly apologized and promised to improve — and Now comes”the flashOn June 15, 2023 actually in German (and worldwide) cinemas.

At least on paper, there’s a good chance The Flash will be an exciting nostalgic movie experience for DC fans, possibly even something like the DC equivalent of the MCU hit Spider-Man: No Way Home. Because Barry Allen won’t be the only superhero in “The Flash” by a long shot:

To stand next to him two different versions of Batman: that of Michael Keaton played version from “Batman” and “Batman Returns”, who now watches over Gotham as the elderly and lonely Bruce Wayne. And that of am Affleck played version from the movies of the so called DCEU like “Batman V Superman” and “Justice League”.

This is possible because in “The Flash”, Barry travels through time to prevent his mother’s death, causing quite a stir in the DC Multiverse in the process. Then you can super girl (Sasha Calle) appear, previously unseen in the DCEU, while also featuring the villains known from “Man Of Steel”. General Zod (Michael Shannon) and Faora Ul (Anthony Traue) return.

Also on board: Kiersey Clemons, who will return after “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” as Iris West, a journalist and Barry’s future partner. And Ron Livingston reprises the role of Barry’s father, Henry Allen, from Billy Crudup.
