Do you like your action movies best when they’re led by muscular heroes? Then you get your money’s worth with Amazon Prime Video. Beginning with “Assassins – Die Killer,” which stars Sylvester Stallone (“The Expendables”), directed by “Lethal Weapon” creator Richard Donner, as a professional assassin who is handled nicely by Antonio Banderas (“Desperados”) is becoming. Also interesting: the script was written by ‘Matrix’ creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski.

In addition to Assassins, you’ll also find full-blooded action in Final Score, starring Dave Bautista, who follows in the footsteps of Die Hard (or the Sudden Impact hockey stadium set starring Jean-Claude Van Damme), but of course not the class of the great role model – even if the football stadium as a background is quite impressive. In the official FILMSTARTS review, there was also a solid 3 out of 5 possible stars for “Final Score”. Genre fans will certainly get their money’s worth.

That’s what “Assassins: The Killers” is about
Professional killer Robert Rath (Sylvester Stallone) is the best of his trade. Anyone who wants to have a safe assignment carried out always hires him. But it’s not just Rath’s skills that put him in first place. 15 years ago he promoted his instructor to the afterlife to be able to do big business himself. Rath has lived with this guilt ever since. He now plans to give up his career as an assassin and leave after one last job.
But of course it works very differently than he had imagined. Because suddenly a younger killer appears and kills the target person. Angered, Rath sets out to find the shooter. His rival is the crazed Miguel Bain (Antonio Banderas), who is desperate to become the new No. 1 in his field and has set his sights on the aging pro. Rath must prove he still has it…
That’s what ‘final score’ is all about
During a football match in London, heavily armed criminals attack and take over the stadium. Spectators and most of those involved suspect nothing bad, but have long been hostages of the fanatical Arkady (Ray Stevenson), who failed with a revolution in Russia and has now planted bombs everywhere. But coincidentally ex-soldier Michael Knox (Dave Bautista) is also present. The American veteran, badly scarred by a failed mission, has visited the family of an old comrade and accompanied his daughter Danni (Lara Peake) to the game.
But the girl escaped from him to secretly meet her boyfriend. While searching for her, Michael runs into the terrorists and realizes there’s something pretty weird here. Now he must not only stop the attackers, but also find Danni before leader Arkady can get hold of her and use her as leverage against him…
