This is what “One” Piece looks like in real life: The first image and poster of Netflix’s live-action series have been released

Ever since Netflix announced plans to direct a One Piece live-action series, fans have been eagerly awaiting first impressions. And expectations are high: after all, “One Piece” is not only one of the most successful manga of all time, the adventures from the popular anime version are also an integral part of many people’s childhood and adolescence. It remains to be seen whether Netflix not only does justice to the nostalgia of the “One Piece” fans, but also develops its own identity.

While One Piece doesn’t have a release date on Netflix yet, the streaming service with the big, red N wants to publish the series later this year. To warm up the anticipation a little further, not only a first photo has been published, but also a poster that shows us the iconic heroes such as Zorro, Luffy and Co. (albeit only from behind).

“One Piece” is all about a huge treasure that the once most powerful and dangerous pirate king of all time – Gold Roger – has hidden in an unknown location. After the death of Gold Roger, all the pirates in the world went looking for this treasure called “One Piece”. Among them is young Monkey D. Luffy, who has tasted the mysterious Gum Gum fruit – and can now stretch his body almost at will.

However, the flip side of the psychic in this case is that Monkey D. Luffy can no longer swim. And if you see yourself not only as a pirate, but also as a real treasure hunter, it is of course not exactly an advantage if you consistently go down in the cool blue. That’s why Luffy is gradually putting together his own team to embark on an adventurous search for the legendary treasure with his companions.

Inaki Godoy plays Luffy in Netflix’s One Piece adaptation. Also starring are Mackenyu as Zorro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Also on board is Peter Gadiot, who will also play a very important role as Shanks. This is one of the most powerful pirates ever, whose powers have never really been fully revealed. For example, to put his opponents to flight, he often needs a dirty look. Shanks was also responsible for giving Luffy his straw hat and (albeit unintended) super powers.
