Amazon again offers Prime Video members a large batch of films for rent for 0.99 euros each. This promotion usually takes place on the last Friday of the month, but maybe everything will be different in 2023? In any case, there are some highlights this time for those who didn’t go to the cinema as often as they wanted to in 2022 – or who prefer to catch up on the big titles of the past year (such as “Bullet Train” with Brad Pitt) in the home theater.
*
As always, the following applies: The promotion is expected to run for two days (until Sunday 22 January 2023)., so until then you have to strike. You then have 30 days to watch a rented movie. Once you’ve started, you have 48 hours to finish the title you started. But which movies are part of the action this time around? Below we present the highlights:
“bullet train“: The already mentioned action hit starring Brad Pitt and many, many other stars takes place almost exclusively aboard a train in which countless hitmen and assassins fight over a mysterious briefcase (3.5 stars out of 5).
*
“Men – What seeks you will find you“: 2022 was another strong year for horror fans. One of the highlights for us was the controversial “Men”, which is at least remembered for its crazy finale (3.5 out of 5 stars).
*
“Christmas Bloody Christmas“: Staying on the subject of horror, but of a completely different kind: in the audiovisually intoxicating FSK 18 slasher, a Santa robot succumbs to bloodlust and causes a carnage with his ax (3.5 stars out of 5).
*
“My lessons with Leo“: Starring newcomer Daryl McCormack and Oscar winner Emma Thompson, the drama takes a close look at the lives of sex workers (3.5 stars out of 5).
*
There are plenty of other movies too, with fans of Christmas kitsch (no killer robots guaranteed!) and action movies spoiled for choice. There is the Liam Neeson actor “Memory – His Last Mission”, the “Die Hard” variant “The Yacht” with Ruby Rose and with “Gasoline Alley” and “Vendetta – Judgment Day” two films, where Bruce Willis in at least on the poster.
