Judging by the first trailer, “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” not only offers us a chaotic and emotional adventure, it also sets the course for future events – although it is expected to be director James Gunn’s last MCU film and certainly also by some Guardians. The appearance of Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), who was already seen in the first trailer of “GotG 3”, should take care of that, but now shines in all its glory in a new portrayal of the film.

Adam Warlock’s appearance was first alluded to in the post-credits scene of Thor 2: The Dark Kingdom and then again in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2, so the appearance of the mighty Marvel hero is finally imminent. Although the word ‘hero’ is not quite right here, as James Gunn told the film magazine explained wherever the photo above was published.
Adam Warlock was created by the golden Sovereign from “GotG Vol. 2” to take revenge on the Guardians. So is Adam Warlock a villain in Guardians Of The Galaxy 3? “It’s a little bit more complicated,” says Gunn. “But he’s definitely not one of the good guys. We see here the childish version of Warlock, newly emerged from his cocoon. He doesn’t understand life very well yet. He’s really just a baby.”
First villain, then hero?
Sounds like a character who goes through a major transformation over the course of “Guardians 3” – and then pretty sure becomes one of the good guys anyway. Appropriately, Gunn explained the opposite namely why he brought Will Poulter on board as Adam Warlock:
“I wanted someone who came across as youthful, and I wanted someone who had both dramatic and comedic skills, not just for this movie, but.” also for what Marvel plans to do with Adam Warlock in the future. He could become a very important figure…“
And he could: In the Marvel Comics, Adam Warlock is best known for his role in the fight against Thanos and in the whole thing with the Infinity Stones. But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that could certainly easily be turned into the Multiverse saga that has now begun and the new villain Kang (Jonathan Majors)…
How exactly it will continue with Adam Warlock in the MCU will certainly be hinted at in “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3”, which will be released in German cinemas on May 3, 2022.
