A new breed of Point Place gang moves into Formans’ basement. After about 15 years, “The Wild Seventies” gets its first official spin-off: “The Wild Nineties”. Set in the 1990s, the series revolves around teenage Leia, the daughter of Donna and “Star Wars” fan Eric. She spends the summer with her grandparents, Kitty and Red, and finds a new group of friends. Among them: Jay Kelso, the son of Jackie and Michael. The spin-off will premiere on Netflix on January 19.
But what are Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon, Topher Grace and the rest of the gang doing today? And which of them appear in the new spin-off? Here you can find out.
Before we start, as a reminder, this is what the group of friends looked like back then:

Mila Kunis was only 14 when filming began on That ’70s Show and she played Jackie Burkhart. She has been the voice actress of Meg Griffin in Family Guy since she was 15 and has starred in many famous movies including Black Swan, Bad Moms, Friends with Benefits, Ted and The Spy Who Dumped Me ». Her latest movie, which came out on Netflix last year, is called “Luckiest Girl Alive”.
In 2022 Kunis, a native of Ukraine, launched a fundraiser for Ukrainian refugees. She donated $3 million herself, along with husband Ashton Kutcher (with whom she has two children).
Kunis will appear in the new spin-off series. In the trailer, she can be seen next to Michael Kelso.
In the final episode of That ’70s Show, Ashton Kutcher guest-starred as Michael Kelso after he left the series after the seventh season. In the years that followed, he starred in a number of romantic comedies. From 2011, he replaced Charlie Sheen in “Two and a Half Men” and in the biopic “Jobs” Kutcher played the founder of Apple. In “The Ranch,” Kutcher and Danny Masterson (more about him below) played brothers who work on her father’s ranch. .
In addition to his acting career, Kutcher is an entrepreneur and invests in technology companies and start-ups, including shares in Skype and Airbnb.
After his divorce from Demi Moore, he met Mila Kunis and married her in 2012. They live with their two children in a luxury farmhouse in California, where the couple opened their doors to the architectural magazine Architectural Digest.
Ashton Kutcher is also back in “That ’90s Show”.
While Laura Prepon was in front of the camera as Donna in “That ’70s Show,” she also attended film school. After the sitcom ended, she had cameo appearances in roles such as How I Met Your Mother and Castle, before landing a starring role in 2013’s Orange Is the New Black, playing convicted drug smuggler Alex Vausse. She has not acted in series or movies since the end of the prison drama, but shares videos on Instagram with her followers about her passion: cooking.
In 2018 she married Ben Foster, the first child was born in 2017 and the second child three years later. She was a member of Scientology from 1999 to 2016.
Prepon stars as Donna in the new trailer for That ’90s Show.
Eric Forman was Topher Grace’s first Hollywood role. Like Ashton Kutcher, he left That ’70s Show in 2005, but returned for the series finale a year later. He has since played Marvel villain Venom in Spider-Man 3, as well as roles in Predators, Valentine’s Day, Interstellar, BlacKkKlansman, and the hit Netflix series Black Mirror.
Grace has a penchant for film editing. So he revised the “Star Wars” trilogy and showed it to a small audience under the name “Star Wars: Episode III.5: The Editor Strikes Back”. He also revised “The Hobbit” as he thinks the three movies would fit into one.
Grace is married to actress Ashley Hinshaw and they have two children together.
Together with Donna, Topher Grace will reprise his role as Eric.
The group of friends couldn’t pronounce his real name, so they named him Fez, which stands for “Foreign Exchange Student”. Fez is played by Wilmer Valderrama, who was still in high school when the pilot aired in 1998. Valderrama has since starred in a number of independent productions, but also appeared in Disney series such as “The Wizard of Waverly Place”, lent his voice to Agustín Madrigal in “Encanto” and has been part of the “NCIS” team since 2016.
In 2020, he announced on Instagram that he is engaged to Amanda Pacheco and that they are expecting a daughter together.
Valderrama can be seen as Kitty’s hairdresser in the That ’90s Show trailer.
Besides “That ’70s Show”, the series “Men at Work” and “The Ranch” by Danny Masterson, who plays stray Steven Hyde, were the only major roles. However, after being accused of rape by three women in 2020, Netflix wrote his character out of The Ranch. In November 2022, the trial was declared a failure after the jury failed to reach a consensus. Variety reported that prosecutors had announced a second trial of Danny Masterson.
He and his wife Bijou Phillips, who is also an actress, have a daughter together and are members of the Church of Scientology.
Masterson is the only main character who will not appear in the new series.
Debra Jo Rupp has been in show business since the 1980s and had a recurring role on “Friends”. She is most famous for her role as Kitty on That ’70s Show.
Since the show’s end, she’s had major roles on This Is Us and WandaVision, and starred alongside Kutcher and Masterson on The Ranch. This year she will appear in the WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos. In addition to her various TV appearances, Rupp can also often be seen on the theater stage.
Rupp lives with her two dogs in a house she designed herself. She has no partner or children.
In the trailer for the new series, Rupp goes all out as a grandma.
To grumpy Red Forman, all teens are blockheads and idiots. Red is embodied by Kurtwood Smith, who rose to fame before That ’70s Show with roles in 21 Jump Street, RoboCop, Rambo III, Star Trek and Dead Poets Society. He also starred in The Ranch, so the sitcom almost became a mini-reunion. In recent years he also starred in “Hitchcock” and “Resurrection” and had several speaking roles, including for DC Comics. In 2022, he starred in The Dropout and Firestarter alongside Zac Efron.
In 1988, Smith married for the second time. His two children are from the first marriage, daughter Laurel Garner is also an actress and had a guest appearance on “That ’70s Show”.
Like Kitty, Red is back to his old self in the new series.
Leo doesn’t just deal with weed in “That ’70s Show”. In real life, Tommy Chong is part of the comedy duo Cheech & Chong, who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s for their love of cannabis. Chong has been in trouble with the police several times, including over the sale of bongs. He was jailed for nine months and paid a six-figure fine.
Chong is married with five children and an adopted son. He is also a marijuana activist and advocate for the legalization of the plant.
Chong reprises his role as Leo on That ’90s Show.
Don Stark’s acting career began in the (real) 1970s, but he’s best known as Bob Pinciotti – Donna’s father and the Formans’ neighbor. Stark has had minor roles in Star Trek: First Contact, Supernatural, CSI, Castle, and Shameless. His latest role is in the comedy series Dollface, in which he plays the father of Jules (played by Kat Dennings). Stark has a background in dance, bodybuilding and martial arts.
Stark has two daughters with his ex-wife. In 1989, he married Aubrey Robinson, with whom he is still together.
Bob definitely makes an appearance in the spin-off, but whether he still lives next door to Kitty and Red isn’t clear. But the three of them certainly have one bond: a grandchild together.
