The more horsepower his car has, the smaller his penis. This common assumption about men has not been scientifically proven so far. A research team from London’s Global University (UCL) has now discovered that there is more than a grain of truth to this.
As “Spiegel” wrote, it was not easy to find. Because another common assumption is that men rarely tell the truth when it comes to the size of their penis.
Therefore, the research team preferred an indirect approach. His prediction: If men were told that their penises are larger or smaller than average, this would have an impact on how attractive they later find expensive sports cars.
The phenomenon did not occur in other luxury goods
So the experiment started with a deception. 200 participants were tricked into thinking they were researching how well they could store information while shopping. Some “facts” were shown on a screen and then presented with a picture of a product.
One of these “facts”: The average penis is 18 centimeters long. Inaccurate: The average penis is twelve to thirteen centimeters long when erect. However, the subjects presented with this fact actually thought sports cars were more attractive.
The group of subjects, said to have an average penis ten centimeters long, found sports cars less attractive. Interesting: This effect was not seen in other luxury items such as watches.
Age plays a very important role in the penile complex. “From age 29, the influence of penis size on sports car desire increased,” write the authors, led by experimental psychologist Daniel C. Richardson. (chs)
