Movie fans around the world are looking forward to this gory action thriller – from the “Spider-Man” creator and a German director

Anyone who, like the author of these lines, frolics among the action fans on Twitter has repeatedly heard enthusiastic anticipation of “Boy Kills World” in recent days. It spilled over even in wider circles. In the largest movie board of the discussion platform is a newly circulating gory photo of “Boy Kills World” currently the hottest topic ever. And here too it becomes clear: the film fans are looking forward to the unusual sounding and promising action thriller. But what is “Boy Kills World”?

This is “Boy Kills World” from debuting director Moritz Mohr and Sam Raimi

Boy Kills World is set in a dystopian future. The deaf boy (Bill Skarsgård) has a vivid imagination. When his parents are murdered, he manages to flee into the jungle, where a mysterious shaman (Yayan Ruhian from The Raid movies) picks him up. He teaches him to suppress his imagination and trains him to become a ruthless killing machine.

The female lead is embodied by Jessica Rothe (“Happy Deathday”), who can be seen as the murderer on June 27 alongside Skarsgård, covered in blood in the photo currently circulating.

Other roles include action specialist Andrew Koji (“Bullet Train”), ex-football star Isaiah Mustafa (“It: Chapter 2”), “X-Men” star Famke Janssen, Michelle Dockery (“Downton Abbey”), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things) and Sharlto Copley (District 9).

The director is the German filmmaker Moritz Mohr, who (like so many other directors) shot numerous commercials, but also attracted attention with short films. His black-and-white zombie film “Akumi” caused a stir, among other things. He then visualized his vision for “Boy Kills Word” with a concept trailer that, in the opinion of the author of these lines, who could see it, showed promise.

The project certainly caught the attention of Spider-Man creator and most recently Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness director Sam Raimi, who teamed up with hit producer Roy Lee (Barbarian, ES) to embrace the film and make its feature film debut possible. for Mohr.

“Boy Kills World” was shot in South Africa, and crazy and innovative action sequences are already promised, but also a good dose of humor. In any case, we are very much looking forward to “Boy Kills World”. Exactly when and where the film will be released is not yet known. But that is likely to change in the near future. A start date will be announced in 2023.
