After Netflix added some strong licensed titles to its program in the first week of January 2023 and also released the exciting series of experiments “Kaleidoscope”, things are a bit quieter in the second calendar week of the year. That doesn’t mean there aren’t new titles worth checking out though – here are the Netflix highlights of the week from January 9 to 15, 2023 for you:
Monday: New series of episodes
It kicks off Monday with two series, each released weekly – not in Netflix’s typical binge-watching mode. This is the second season of the Vikings anime series “Vinland Saga” and the Korean reboot “trolley”.
Tuesday: The name says it all
Bee “The ax-wielding hitchhiker” and even more “The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker” (the original title) might make you think of a gory slasher horror movie. But behind this title lies a documentary about a young hitchhiker who became notorious because of an (alleged?) ax murder.
Wednesday: It’s getting sexy again
The first season “sexify“ was a big hit for Netflix, ranking in the top 10 in a total of 80 countries. No wonder the streaming service has commissioned a second season. This time Natalia (Aleksandra Skraba), Monika (Sandra Drzymalska) and Paulina (Maria Sobocinska) develop his sex app for men after the launch of their app for women goes wrong.
Thursday: Finally Vikings again
The Vikings are back: ‘Vikings’ was already very popular on Netflix, hence the streaming service “Vikings: Valhalla“ directly followed by a self-produced sequel. Now season 2 is coming and according to the trailer again offers a lot of brutal action and strong visuals:
There are also new adventures of Po in the second season “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight“ and a whirlwind love story featuring Marvel star Sebastian Stan and ‘Andor’ villain Denise Gough in the romantic drama “Monday“.
Friday: Not an unlucky day
This Friday is January 13, 2023, but it doesn’t look like an unlucky day, at least given the day’s Netflix reboots. Instead, there is a mixed program: the biggest title is undoubtedly the third season of the Spanish series “Heaven Rojo“in the animal movie “Dog gone“ A family searches for a missing dog through all possible means and in the documentary series “breaking point“ some of the biggest tennis stars take center stage.
Saturday and Sunday: Another quiet weekend
No major titles have been announced for the weekend yet, but most should be well supplied with “Vikings: Valhalla”, “Sky Rojo” and Co. And if not, there will definitely be one or two reboots this weekend worth watching – we’ll keep you posted…
