Another Marvel star for “Dune 2” – but what (certainly dire) role does he play?

As it has now become known, actor Tim Blake Nelson was in front of the camera when the shooting for “Dune 2” ended in December 2022. The role he plays is kept secret.

But we can very well imagine Blake Nelson playing the pesky killer and political tactician Hasimir Fenring. In the book, he is a close confidant and advisor to Emperor Shaddam IV (played by Christopher Walken) and helped him rise to power with assassination. He also plays an important role in the dispute between the Houses of Harkonnen and Atreides. In fact, in the book, he is the interim governor of Arrakis during the transition of power, which was omitted in Denis Villeneuve’s film “Dune”.

In the books, the character is described as “small and frail looking”, but at the same time as one of the “deadliest warriors in the realm”. He is an immensely dangerous killer who should not be underestimated.

It is obvious that Fenring appears. After all, it is already known that his wife, Lady Margot Fenring, will be introduced in Dune 2. She will be played by Léa Seydoux (“James Bond: No Time To Die”). The future will tell if Tim Blake Nelson truly embodies Hasimir Fenring. The role is still pure speculation on our part.
