After an extremely difficult stunt scene for the “John Wick” spin-off “Ballerina”: Ana De Armas is in awe of Keanu Reeves

John Wick’s universe is expanding. In addition to the series “The Continental”, which is launched in Germany on Amazon Prime Video and which focuses on the origins of the legendary killer hotel, we can also expect a spin-off on the big screen with “Ballerina”. In it, Ana de Armas (“Blonde”) takes on the main role, embodying a young woman who wants to take revenge on the murderers of her family. As announced at the beginning of November 2022, Keanu Reeves, aka John Wick himself, will also be present.

Recently, Ana de Armas was a guest on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon and also commented on the current status of “Ballerina”: “We have been shooting in Prague for four months. We have one month left. And I’m in pain. My body, my back, everything hurts. I’m whining, I’m in pain, I’m bruised. ‘Bond’ was 15 minutes long, this is a whole movie, another level.”

This finally confirms what was already clear to everyone: Ana de Armas will make full physical effort in “Ballerina” and prove that she has more than her time-bound (albeit very good) action performance in the aforementioned “James Bond 007 – No Time To Die” and the Netflix blockbuster “The Gray Man”. Speaking to host Jimmy Fallon, de Armas added: “But recently Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene and this guy just rolls around and just throws me and does these crazy stunts. And I guess I can’t complain anymore, that’s it. Because he just does these things like that !

Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas will also be using their fists and guns together in “Ballerina”, which is sure to be pretty impressive. So far, it’s not clear how big John Wick’s appearance will be in the spin-off – he could end up just being part of a big action sequence. There has not yet been a cinema release. Ballerina is directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), while Emerald Fennell (Oscar for Promising Young Woman) will revise Shay Hatten’s original script.

But before we can enjoy “Ballerina” or “The Continental”, “John Wick: Chapter 4” is waiting for us. The action movie starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard and Scott Adkins opens March 23, 2023 in cinemas in Germany. And the trailer, which you can watch here, already betrays that we can get ready for great bangs and bangs again:
