What a career: Jordan Peele not only has an Oscar for best screenwriter on his shelf after only three films, he has also developed a reputation among film fans as one of the few directors who can be trusted blindly. This is also evident from Peele’s latest coup “Nope”, which landed a handsome second in the ranking of the best films of 2022, which was selected together with our sister site Moviepilot:
So there is – not only FILMSTARTS and Moviepilot, but also the rest of the film fans of the world – certainly some who would like a sequel to Nope. And that wish could come trueas Peele did in an interview with the implied. To explain Peele’s comments, however, we need to go a little further:
Who is the mysterious nobody?
Because there is in one of the trailers for “Nope”, two short scenes featuring a character who does not appear in the final film. After “Nope” came out for home cinema*, this is of course much more comparable. You can check out the said scenes in the following trailer at minute 2:19:
The man will, according to the IMDb from Michael Bush (“Pretty Little Liars”) and dubbed the character “Nobody”. But what about that nobody who is apparently on his way on a movie studio property and is running towards something that many other people are running from? That’s exactly what we could discover in a sequel or spin-off of “Nope”.
“This character’s story has yet to be told, I can tell you that,” said Jordan Peele namely opposite . “But that’s just a frustrating way of saying, ‘I’m glad people are paying attention. But I believe some of these questions will be answered in the future. We are not done telling all these stories yet.”

It’s clear that Peele still has plans for Nobody, “Nope” and the world established with this film – but the notoriously secretive director isn’t revealing exactly what that is, of course. We are definitely excited…
And by the way: together with Moviepilot we have also made a ranking of the best series in 2022. You can see the resulting top 25 here:
