“Suddenly everything happened by itself”

He knows how to attract attention. Two months ago, Christian Klinner (50) launched a call entitled “Push me” on a platform he founded. The internet entrepreneur asked his community to purchase his first book before he finished writing it.

This is called “the way of two ways”. While it may sound esoteric at first, it is actually a collection of relatively realistic life-aid tips, called lifehacks, that Klinner collected and used himself.

She sits at the desk of her family home in Zurich’s 6th district, where she wrote the book on her laptop, and talks about how she’s been thinking about ways to be happier since adolescence. At the age of 30, he turned his early ideas into a book outline that no one had seen before.

You got ninja tricks

The range of tips ranges from breathing exercises and diet to techniques that make it easier to remember names. For decades he has occupied himself with meditation philosophies and the like. “Most of them were too time consuming and complicated for me. That’s why I developed techniques that can be easily integrated into daily life.»

For example, being grateful for everyday things is a good way to deal with stress, says Klinner. He further developed this simple technique. In his own words, this is his ninja trick: he’s trying to be grateful for what he hopes will come in the future. “For example, because I’m a successful writer even though I haven’t even published my first book. It sounds abstract, but there’s a lot of pressure on me.”

Self-healers like Klinner don’t have a good reputation everywhere. They are seen as stubborn perfectionists with a poor work-life balance. To him, self-optimizing has nothing to do with striving for more money and success, he says. “It goes without saying that I want to be a better person, and it has to do with self-love. Also, balanced people bring less restlessness to the world.”

Thanks to his online appeal, Klinner has already sold 111 copies of his book, worth a total of 5,500 francs. The pressure he exerted on himself worked: He got up at 5 a.m. every morning and wrote until 6:30, or until his wife and two children got up. “Suddenly everything happened by itself. I had the best time of my life.” The 130-page work is now finished and can be pre-ordered on leben2.ch. Klinner self-publishes. It will be delivered from January 31st. Twenty years passed before the life project was completed.

The heavy course of the corona intervened

Klinner is the co-founder of Ron Orp, the largest urban online network in Switzerland with around 50 employees. His latest project is We Talents, a business platform for the creative scene. There is so much to do, and that was one of the reasons he put off the book project for years. At one point, Klinner started blogging in small chunks of what he wanted to share with the world. The response was so great that he finally decided to put his project into practice. Before that, however, life intervened once again.

He was caught in Corona and had a very heavy course. It was a time before when the ninja trick helped him. “I thanked you for getting better, even though I was so bad. That made the time more bearable for me. And maybe it made me fully healthy more quickly.”
