Fireworks will take place here on New Year’s Eve 2022 – and not here

The sky lights up in all kinds of colors, there’s a bang and people are busy taking pictures: you’ll see them everywhere on New Year’s Eve in Switzerland bigger fireworks instead of. At least if it’s not the corona pandemic.

So many bangers have been canceled in the past two years. Here you can see where fireworks will be set off this year and where to hide if the fire starts to get on your nerves.

Of the New Year’s Magic in Zurich will make its comeback in 2022 after a two-year absence. Of course, this also includes the fifteen-minute fireworks over Lake Zurich. For this, all the lights around the lake basin are extinguished and it starts shortly after midnight.

Also up there Lake Lucerne This year there is a big fireworks in Brunnen. This is visible from the lakeside promenade and starts at 11:30 am.

Fireworks also take place in this pretty Vaud village right on the border with the canton of Bern. This starts shortly before midnight and is intended to guide guests into the new year on site.

In beautiful Toggenburg there is a big fireworks display at midnight in Oberdorf near Wildhaus. So if you want to marvel at the fireworks in front of an Alpine panorama, you’ve come to the right place.

Also in the canton of Friborg it will be banging and banging on the night of 1 January. A large fireworks display takes place here over the Schwarzsee, right on the border with the canton of Bern.

If you want to avoid the banging and fine dust, you have to go to Basel. Here the fireworks were canceled again. Those who can do without private missiles are best served in the canton of Graubünden.

The fireworks will also fall over the Rhine in 2022 – for the third time in a row. The 79-year-old organizer Michele Parini “doesn’t want to do it alone”, he explains to bz Basel. There are no sponsors, so there will be no big fireworks in Basel this year either.

In Davos, Ilanz, Laax and Scuol, only silent fireworks (volcanoes, Bengal fire and stars) may be set off. In other municipalities, a permit is required to set off fireworks. These include: Grüsch, Luzein and Schiers.
