“Coop Wohngenossenschaft” is in no way owned by Coop

The “Coop Wohngenossenschaft” website comes in the typical Coop look. The logo is embroidered on the side, the website is kept in the familiar shades of orange. It is said that 1,000 new apartments will be built on the Swissmill site.

Coop distances himself

In a tweet on Wednesday, Coop openly distanced himself from “Coop Wohngenossenschaft”. “We will take legal action,” a spokesperson told Blick. It is unknown who created the website. The retailer will therefore file a complaint against unidentified persons. Due to unfair competition and violation of intellectual property rights.

It may be a dispute that started last year. There were 15 flats next to the Swissmill factory. But last year, the landlords were notified.

Coop is currently building offices and laboratories for grain and flour instead of apartments for Swissmill. A second track is also planned. “Operational adjustments are necessary to secure the position in Sihlquai with their business,” a spokesperson said.

The “Coop Wohngenossenschaft” is suspected to have been created by the occupiers at the time or those responsible for the petition. But Coop actually found a friendly settlement with the former tenants. They were allowed to stay longer and now they have all moved.
