You may not have heard much about the comedy series “Minx”, which has remained under the radar in Germany until now, can be seen here on RTL +. The fantasy series “The Nevers” starring “Outlander” star Laura Donnelly, developed by Joss Whedon and brought to you by Sky and WOW, gained more attention in this country. What do both series have in common? You’re not getting a second season.

Both series are from Warner Bros. Discovery and are currently streaming on HBO Max in the US. Then Warner Bros. Discovery is currently (not only) doing quite a cleanup on HBO Max and will soon remove the pre-existing episodes of “The Nevers”, “Minx”, the Anna Kendrick series “Love Life” and also the series “Westworld”, which was discontinued a few weeks ago.

This will initially have no effect for Germany, because the shows can be seen at other providers in this country. But the cancellations also affect fans in this country, who will now not see a second season of “Minx” and “The Nevers”.

“Minx”: Second season almost over

This is particularly bitter with “Minx”. The comedy series about an erotic magazine is set in the 1970s and was widely acclaimed by the international press and by has a near-perfect rating of 97 percent positive reviews, was renewed for a second season in May 2022 – and has been hard at work ever since. That means: much of the second season of “Minx” already exists, but will not be published now.

The Nevers rings a mysterious event that grants supernatural powers to a group of people, mostly women, in Victorian London. Dubbed “the touched ones,” widow Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and brilliant young inventor Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) make it their mission to protect these people – because society doesn’t want them any good.
