This is how we braid our hair in cold weather.

The days of the bun and ponytail are over. It’s slowly getting colder—although this summer isn’t exactly swelteringly hot. Quite complicated, but still: Winter often brings even more changeable weather. We wear hats and we don’t have to tie our hair back. The flowing mane remains open. It should fit, emphasize our character and look good. Johan Hellström (56) is CEO of Swedish hair product brand Björn Axén, intermediate hairdresser of Starfigaro and the Swedish royal family. The expert is sure: “Diversity is the biggest trend right now.”
By this Hellström means diversity, many different styles and the courage to be different. “A lot of people look at others and try to fit in. Please stand out! Give the world something interesting and exciting,” emphasizes the hairdresser. Especially this fall and winter, it’s about accepting how and who you are. Diversity is the focus and is celebrated. “I love this trend and want more,” adds Hellström with a hearty laugh.

congratulate yourself

The Swedish hairdresser emphasizes: “There is no trending hairstyle right now, anything is possible. If you have curly hair, really bring out the curls. If your hair is long and straight, overdo it a little more and accentuate your natural look.”
Let’s call it a trend we love. Don’t love too much with little effort. “Dare to stand out because that’s what’s hot right now. Do a little more of whatever you have on hand,” advises star Figaro.

Pixie, bob, wolf cut and bangs

But in addition to all the love of naturalness, there are quite a few fashionable haircuts that have appeared. According to the expert, a slightly longer pixie variant, any bust – but especially the stubby bob – is a new version of the wolf cut, and bangs of any length are definitely cool. “Brows are the coolest accessory ever,” adds Hellstrom.

In terms of color, it remains natural. Here, too, it is important to stay true to yourself, according to the professional. “Hair is colorful, but it’s more about highlighting and pushing what you already have.” Balayage plays a big role. Or “burnt” tones for people with brown hair.
“But of course we still have crazy colors because we need some joy and fun in our lives right now.” But here, rather pale tones would be on the list.

Quality matters

As Hellstrom reveals, quality first and foremost plays a role in all hairstyles. On the one hand it is about accepting your own hair structure, but also about healthy and shiny hair. Captivate every day with great care and attention. «Hairstyles are so clean and classic this season. Even if you have wild curls, they still have a thoughtful shape.” It’s all about smartly styled looks, mirror-smooth shine, and products that enhance hair’s strength and vitality.
You can give your hair another personal touch with accessories. “Creativity should come into play when it comes to hair details. If you have a scarf, you can turn it away from its purpose and make a bun.” Sometimes being a little crazy and living it, it makes you happy and is a real eye-catcher for others.
