The sun is almost always shining on the terrace of this winter bar in Upper Valais, even in winter. Moosalp restaurant is unknown in Switzerland. On the one hand, thanks to the super thin slices of cream prepared fresh every day and many more flavors. On the other hand, the landscape offers a panorama over several four thousand mountains.

My favorite thing about Berghaus Lauchernalp is the view of the Bietschhorn and Valais Alps from the beautiful terrace. Berghaus can be reached directly from the ski slope. The food is very good and despite being very busy the service is friendly and fast.

Aebi restaurant has a host who still lives and breathes hospitality. He takes time to play the organ for his guests in front of the rustic restaurant. He fired up the oven at Epiphany and prepared bagels outdoors. You can also sunbathe on the terrace in winter and enjoy excellent food.

Hohsaas is over 3100 meters above sea level. M., right next to the glacier. The ski slope is also not far away. I liked that you can go on a snowshoe or snow tour there and see 18 four thousand mountain views. You can also spend the night there and watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets – you can even see the Milky Way with a good view!

Various snowshoe trails lead up to the Gummenalp restaurant – but the ski slopes are also impressive. I often enjoy snowshoeing climbing, I can dine there perfectly and then paraglide down to the valley floor.

My favorite mountain restaurant in the winter is definitely Hannighüsli, a charming mountain hut with great views of the Matterhorn peak. It is located directly on the slopes and near the mountain station of the gondola lift. It is therefore easy to reach on foot or by ski/snowboard. Just a great place to relax.
