“Jon Snow is not doing well”: “Game Of Thrones” star Kit Harington reveals possible spin-off details

Long before ‘House Of The Dragon’ provided ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans with the much-needed dose of intrigue, power games and dragon action, there was big news in June 2022: a ‘Jon Snow’ spin-off is coming! One of the most popular characters from the HBO hit series is apparently going on more adventures and the success of “House Of The Dragon” should make the whole thing even more likely. But what does Jon Snow experience in his own series and what is it about?

At the official Game Of Thrones convention currently taking place in Los Angeles, there has been no official announcement of the series or concrete information about the plot. However, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington, who initiated the project himself, talked a little about his character and his final scenes in “Game Of Thrones” Season 8 at the fan show – and from this you can see how Jon Snow is doing. Continue.

“I think if you asked him he’d say he came off with a black eye,” said Jon Snow’s Kit Harington (through ). “Towards the end of the series he is in his cell preparing to be beheaded and he wants it that way. He is done with life. Going to the Wall is both a great gift and a great curse.”

Because now, Harington went on to explain, Jon Snow has to spend his life in this place full of memories and stories and thinking about how he killed Daenerys, how Ygritte died in his arms, and how he killed Olly [ein junges Mitglied der Nachtwache] hang left. Harington eloquently described all of these traumatic experiences as “interesting.”

“Towards the end of the series, we leave him with that feeling… I think we wanted a little smile, like everything’s okay. But he’s not doing well,” said Harington.

Although this is of course not yet official confirmation, there are many indications that the series currently known as “Game Of Thrones: Snow” is also about coming to terms with these profound experiences. And maybe Harington allowed himself to be looked at differently…

Direwolf Ghost back in spin-off?

Because as part of the “Game Of Thrones” fair, Harington also talked about the terrible wolf Ghost (German: Geist), who sends Jon Snow away only in the eighth season before the wolf and master are reunited at the very end.

“I think Ghost has a place in…” Harington began before changing his mind. “I mean, in the books Ghost is great. The one with the wolves and the [Stark-]Kids are such an interesting dynamic.”

Harington then explained once again that the scenes with the wolves were difficult to film and that Ghost and Co. on “Game Of Thrones” was just too expensive at the time. This could possibly be different in the “Jon Snow” series due to technological advancements – after all, there are significantly more dragons in “House Of The Dragon” than in “Game Of Thrones”.
