Coming soon from Netflix: brutal war action from the creators of The Equalizer, the craziest Johnny Depp movie and a modern coming-of-age classic

Netflix subscribers are always a little scared when the watch list gets too big, but time is way too short. Because, as we are used to by now, the streaming catalog is not only regularly expanded with many films, but exciting titles are also constantly being removed from the program. Originals such as “Nothing New in the West”, “Troll”, or “Wednesday” are not affected. Only the licensed titles are only available on Netflix for a certain period of time. That is why we regularly inform you when highlights of the big red N disappear again.

All the films that we present to you individually below are only available on Netflix until December 14. Meanwhile, the gentle biopic “The Wonderful Mr. Rogers” starring Tom Hanks is canceled on December 11. The historical drama “Colette” starring Keira Knightley and Dominic West is available on Netflix through December 13.

Tears of the sun“ (2 out of 5 stars): In the brutal war action film, Bruce Willis embarks on a rescue mission to Nigeria, where he breaks free in the dense jungle. “The Equalizer” maker Anotine Fuqua stages the usual decent, but also extremely patriotic. It is said that “Tears of the Sun” is also the reason for Bruce Willis’ illness, as he was hit in the head by a projectile during filming, which may have caused his current aphasia. Bruce Willis sued the studio for damages at the time.

superb bath“ (4 out of 5 stars): Greg Mottola’s comedy now has not only cult status, but also classic status. While the focus here is on pubescent brutal humour, ‘Superbad’ manages brilliantly never to drift into the tawdry. In the end, the film has too much heart for that – and one of the most beautiful coming-of-age endings ever. Also: McLovin!

Don – The game begins“: Shah Rukh Khan fans take note! Soon the real action thriller hit ‘Don’ will disappear from Netflix, in which the Indian superstar embodies a respectable citizen who has to replace the police as a double for the boss of the Malaysian drug mafia. Soon he becomes entangled between all fronts. As it should be, Farhan Akhtar’s film is a whopping 180 minutes long.

Don 2 – The king is back“ (3 out of 5 stars): Anyone who already had fun with “Don – The Game Begins” will also get their money’s worth with the sequel. The conclusion of the FILMSTARTS review is: Somewhere between an eccentric Bollywood break and a western style heist thriller, Akhtar’s “Don 2” has lost its own identity, admits Hermaphrodite.

It’s now or never: time is money“: A small cult film from Germany, in which three elderly women (Gudrun Okras, Elisabeth Scherer, Christel Peters) dream together of a luxury cruise and really only have to skate their various winnings. However, at the moment the bank is being robbed. Of course, the three grandmothers don’t accept that and plan a bank robbery themselves. Participation in a supporting role: Til Schweiger.

A swindler & sir“ (4 out of 5 stars): David Lowery (“The Green Knight”) gives Robert Redford the big stage one last time. In the charming robber pistol, Redford embodies a bank robber who is not only great as a professional crook, but also cuts a good figure as an escaped convict. A wonderfully smooth farewell performance for film legend Robert Redford.

Tusk“ (3 out of 5 stars): Although Justin Long is central to the story here and gradually turns into a walrus (!), the appearance of Johnny Depp is the real (!!) curiosity. You hardly recognize him as Guy Lapointe thanks to the crazy mask work.
