This is how you can find the shortest queue at the checkout

Supermarkets and stores get crowded especially after work and on weekends. However, the most frustrating surprise usually awaits you at the checkout: The queues there seem endless, and there are people with shopping carts full of people everywhere. Especially if you are in a hurry, waiting for a long time at the cash register bothers you. Fortunately, there are a few tips to shorten the waiting time as much as possible.

1. Full shopping carts do not mean longer waiting times

Most people associate a series of full shopping carts with a long wait. Actually, this assumption is not true at all. However, many people queue up where there are fewer full shopping carts. They don’t know that a line with fewer contacts but larger purchases moves faster.

Because the welcome, the whole payment process and the send-off take much longer than expected. Talking about the weather can also be a factor. It goes faster if most of the time is spent browsing. Therefore, a row with full shopping carts but fewer people makes it easier to move forward.

2. Queue behind young couples

The entire payment process is faster with two people. After all, you can help each other out so you can load and pack your groceries on the treadmill. This saves a lot of time! For younger couples, the procedure is usually slightly faster. Of course, you don’t have to pay special attention to pairs – the main thing is that more than two hands can do this.

3. Help yourself

With your help, the waiting time can also be accelerated. If you place the goods on the belt with the barcode facing down, the cashier has less work to do. When it comes to clothing, price tags are already removable. This way, time can be saved.

You can also do a good thing if you help the next elders put their purchases on the conveyor belt.

4. Row on the left bank

Most people are right-handed. That’s why most people seem to intuitively go for the right crates. Therefore, you can save time by joining the queue on the left.

5. Analyze the products in the shopping cart

If the other person buys many products of the same type, a lot of time is saved. The seller then only needs to scan a single item. When you buy the same number of products in different varieties, the waiting time is longer. Accordingly, beware of shopping carts with many of the same products.
