This is the villain in “Guardians Of The Galaxy 3”: explains the trailer [Video]

The new trailer for “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3” makes it clear once again that the MCU blockbuster will tie into the events of “The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special” (so pre-stream it on Disney+* if you wish Christmas adventures you haven’t seen yet). The Guardians have now made space dog Cosmo part of their team and occupy Knowhere, a planet-like skull that floats through space, as a new base.

But what’s the next step from there? The trailer already tells us a lot about this, so our video editor and Marvel expert Sebastian set out to take a closer look at it all.

The Big Villain: High Evolutionary

While the trailer already reveals that “Star-Lord” Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and associates not only continue to search for Gamora (Zoe Saldana), but actually find her, it also becomes clear who they will face on their adventure. : Hight Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji, known from “Peacemaker” among others).

In the video, Sebastian explains who is behind this scientist who wants to advance evolution and also conducts all kinds of questionable experiments. Let’s betray at this point: we’re adamant that he was responsible for the creation of Rocket (voice: Bradley Cooper) – possibly also for the adorable Otter lady we see in the trailer.

It’s Lylla, Rocket’s best friend in the comics, who’s also probably wreaking havoc by his side in the MCU right now. In the trailer, we’re probably looking at their big reunion, a nod to the very first film in the series. After all, Lylla had already been revealed as his partner in a text overlay.

In this context, the preview tells us once again that we get to know the little Rocket in a flashback. Incidentally, fans are currently concerned that this is no longer spoken by Fahri Yardim in the German version. After all, it can’t be heard in the current trailer. But put those concerns aside for now. Here we explain why:

However, we already know we’re seeing young Rocket and he’s reuniting with Lylla from reports of an earlier preview, so there’s something else fans will be excited about:

We finally see in the current trailer Will Poulter (Midsommar, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch) as Adam Warlock. While he’s a new character who will continue to be very important to the MCU going forward, we may have to say goodbye to others after Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3. Director James Gunn already hinted that not all main characters will survive his last Marvel film before he fully throws himself into his new role as boss at competitor DC. But who could die?
