How can you create your own advent calendar?

Advent is approaching, Christmas lights illuminate the cities, the Christmas markets invite you to wander. Advent calendars are also part of festival anticipation. If you don’t want to buy a model, you can use a few simple tricks to make your own. Blick is the inspiration for this.

1. Open advent calendar

If you don’t have much time and still want a Christmas calendar, this calendar is for you. 24 small gifts, wrapping paper, scissors and lots of string are all it takes. All of the wrapped gifts can be tied on a string and then hung. Small packages can also be simply installed nicely. Important: Do not forget to number.

2. Boxing Christmas tree

An exciting advent calendar can be made with small cardboard boxes. Boxes of different sizes of the same shape are best suited for this. These can be painted, decorated or simply decorated as you wish. It would be great to stack the boxes in the form of a Christmas tree.

3. Santa’s stockings

According to American tradition, stockings can be stuffed. But instead of leaving stockings empty until Christmas, they are already pre-filled and emptied throughout December. You can reuse the stockings for Christmas if you want – and hope Santa Claus stuffs them with care.

4. Story advent calendar

A Christmas calendar doesn’t always have to consist of material gifts, it can also be designed very personally. Stories and thought-provoking stuff are also a great idea. Poems and small sayings are also suitable. Anything that fits on a sheet or two is perfect. The paper can then be rolled up and hung with the others.

5. Small bags

Small bags are ideal for advent calendars, as small gifts can be individually wrapped in them. You can buy the bags or sew them yourself. When hung on a string, this not only makes a great advent calendar but also makes a decorative addition to the home or apartment.

6. Advent calendar with photo

The classic advent calendar can be personalized with Polaroid photos. Photos can also be easily printed. They are labeled with numbers 1 to 24 on the back and then hung or laid out according to taste. The calendar can be left hanging and used as decoration after Christmas.

7. Presenting Çübeli

A Christmas calendar can be made from small “Chubeli” or paper cups. You can paint or decorate them and then fill them with the little things that are packed. Another possibility: The containers can also be closed with colored paper or fabric. This can be done, for example, by placing a piece of fabric over the opening and then tying the edge with a ribbon.
