This secret detail is hidden in a painting from ‘The Big Bang Theory’ – and hardly anyone noticed

Mayim Bialik, who played Amy in The Big Bang Theory, insisted on revealing a detail that went unnoticed by the public for years. This can be seen in the iconic painting Amy gives to Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in the series.

For those who don’t know what that means: in The Big Bang Theory, Amy gives her friend Penny a painting to celebrate their friendship. Bialik’s character had the painting done for a whopping $3,000. It shows smiling Amy and Penny. The painting became one of the sitcom’s most memorable props soon after its introduction into the series’ story. You can watch the scene in full here:

Mayim Bialik also has his say in Jessica Radloff’s book The Big Bang Theory: The Definite, Inside Story Of The Epic Hit Series. Here she revealed that there is a remarkable detail to discover in the painting, which was not planned at all: Apparently, Amy’s hand on Penny’s shoulder shouldn’t have been in the photo originally. That’s why it looks much bigger than usual:

“The size of the hand was absolutely shocking when I first saw it. She was really huge. Kaley and I posed for a few pictures that the painter relied on, but my hand wasn’t originally on her shoulder, so that’s later added. It’s definitely not my hand. Every time I look at the picture, all I see is this huge hand!”
