“The Crown”: Here’s How the 6th Season Goes with Lady Diana and Co. continue on Netflix

In the fifth season of the hit Netflix series “The Crown”, based on the life of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, the 1990s take center stage in the story. A decade that was anything but boring for British royals. In particular, the broken relationship between Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer and the subsequent divorce has kept the court and the media in suspense for a long time.

So it’s no wonder these exciting years couldn’t all fit into one season. So the end of the decade – and with it one of the greatest disasters of the British Royal Family – will not be addressed until Season 6. The early 2000s will definitely be part of the plot as well.

This Is Happening In Season 6 Of The Crown On Netflix

Given that “The Crown” is chronologically very close to the real history of the British Royals, it’s easy to estimate how the sixth and final season of the series will continue. In addition, it is already known which personalities will play a role in the final and which actors have been cast.

In the sixth season of The Crown, the central theme of the plot is the death of Lady Diana and its aftermath. Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki) was in Paris in 1997 with her new partner Dodi Al-Fayed (who we also met in Season 5) when they were involved in a car accident. But not only the catastrophe surrounding Lady Diana is part of the plot of the last season. Diana’s son, Prince William (played by Senan West in season five), will also have a bigger role. In 2001, William met his future wife, Kate Middleton, at St Andrews University in Scotland. The actors for the couple have already been cast and announced.

William is played by two actors (of different ages) in season 6. First, 16-year-old Rufus Kampa is seen as a prince, followed by Ed McVey (21). Meg Bellamy will play Middleton.

When will season 6 of The Crown air on Netflix?

Netflix has not yet announced when the sixth season of The Crown will start. In an interview with Charles actor Dominic West revealed that filming for the final season will begin in August 2022. So it’s not unlikely that we’ll see the new and final episodes of “The Crown” as early as fall 2023..
