With good sleep and vitamin D for a strong immune system

With a few simple measures, the immune system and defenses can be strengthened. A healthy lifestyle is essential for a functioning immune system. That means plenty of exercise, a balanced diet, and a good dose of sunlight every day.

1. Proper nutrition

The easiest way to strengthen the immune system is nutrition. For a strong immune system, the body needs many different vitamins, nutrients and trace elements. Most of these ingredients can be absorbed through a balanced diet. Raw foods and fruits are considered particularly healthy and good for the immune system. They contain many important vitamins and minerals.

2. Exercise in the fresh air

Regular physical activity strengthens the immune system. You don’t need to run a marathon for this. It is much more important that you apply a regular dose of exercise to your body. This could be cycling, running or swimming. But even a long walk can have a positive effect on the immune system.

These activities are best done outside. Vitamin D absorbed through the skin is essential for a healthy immune system.

3. Cold and Hot

Cold/warm applications have been proven to have a positive effect on the immune system. Such temperature stimuli can be for example sauna or Kneipp tours or cold/warm showers.

4. Relaxation

When stressed, the body releases the stress hormone Coritsol. Over a longer period of time, this has a detrimental effect on the immune system.

It is probably not possible to reduce the stress to zero. But with good stress management, you can do something good for your immune system. So it makes sense to actively try to relax. Activities such as yoga or autogenic training can help reduce stress.

5. Lots of sleep

Sleep has an important function for the body and mind. Many processes take place in our organism while lying in bed. Sometimes overdoing it and getting too little sleep is absolutely harmless. But too little sleep over a longer period of time can weaken the immune system and promote disease.

6. Laughter

Laughter is healthy – every child knows that. Studies show that a good laugh activates various defenses in our body. And not only that, the cardiovascular system, diaphragm, vocal cords, facial and abdominal muscles are strongly stimulated and thus better supplied with blood.
