Top Notch Growth For “Dune” Prequel: A “Vikings” Star Is Also Part Of The Party

After “Dune”, we can not only look forward with anticipation to the sequel, also directed by Denis Villeneuve, which will most likely hit German cinemas on November 2, 2023. A spin-off series called Dune: The Sisterhood is also in the works. Set 10,000 years before the events of Dune, it follows the Harkonnen sisters as they deal with forces that threaten the future of humanity. The series also follows the founding of the legendary Ben Gesserit sect.

While Emily Watson (“Red Dragon”) and Shirley Henderson (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”) embody the Harkonnen sisters Valya and Tula, “Game Of Thrones” star Indira Varma takes on the role of Empress Natalya, who her marriage was responsible for uniting thousands of worlds. That has now also been confirmed Travis Fommel join the top ensemble. He is best known for his portrayal of Ragnar in Vikings, but was recently seen in the series Raised By Wolves.

Fimmel will play the character Desmond Hart in Dune: The Sisterhood. This is a charismatic soldier with a very mysterious past, who will do anything to win the Emperor’s trust at the cost of the mysterious sisterhood. However, it is not yet known who will take on the role of Emperor Corrino and will therefore be seen alongside Indira Varma.
